Our KIDS Classes.


 

For CrossFit JUNIORS (18mnths-5yrs) classes, it begins with a simple assessment of the athletes, exercising the most basic of unloaded foundational movements and skills. “Gymnastics progressions” include grip work and planking, as well as any additional body-weight-only movements. The incorporation of vestibular work and activities such as carrying, throwing, catching and kicking various objects is practiced each session. With respect to CrossFit KIDS (6-9yrs) and YOUTH (10-13yrs), quality of movement is now an additional piece as it becomes an increasingly larger focus. For these age groups, the number of specific movements and skills in their potential repertoire expands, as does the extent of their gymnastic progressions for the push-up, handstand push-up and pull-up. More advanced skills can also be practiced with external objects, denoted by the change from “manipulation” to “coordination.” The CrossFit SuperYouth (14+yrs) class is disciplined in the development of a complete athlete. Starting with nutrition and moving into metabolic conditioning, gymnastics and weightlifting, SuperYouth are provided an opportunity compete when their individual capabilities demonstrate foundational independence.
